Ghazipur – Reverse Osmosis Plant
Raised INR 41,000 to pay for purchase and installation of a Reverse Osmosis water unit in Ghazipur slum area on the outskirts of New Delhi (April 2023) to cater to the drinking water needs of 40 women waste-picker artisans and about 100 children.
Ghazipur is one of the largest and growing landills in India with the size of eight football fields and 70 meters height. This project was focused on providing potable water to a Ghazipur slum community comprised of women waste-pickers (and their children) who create eco-friendly products using discarded flowers and recycled paper, which provides them an alternative and sustained livelihood.
