I also visited the Ossining water treatment plant in NY for my 5th-grade Capstone Project. This plant is older than Millwood plant but is still quite effective. The plant manager, Steve Ho, told me that the raw water came from the Old Croton Reservoir in NYC. The Ossining Water Treatment Plant has a design capacity to supply approximately 10 million gallons of water a day to Westchester County, NY. The treatment methods were similar to those in the Millwood water treatment plant except that this facility did not use the Ozonation and DAF process. In addition, this facility had a backup reservoir on site.
